How did we get here?

Indigo Recap

How we got to this point in our lives is a loaded question. As far as the tournament goes, it’s been a real roller coaster of emotions. Indigo started off the season with a loss to blue in the Twitter seeding tournament. But, in true Indigo fashion, came roaring back with a huge win in the consolation round.

Once in the real tournament, Indigo left no doubt that they were a force to be reckoned with by beating opponents with a combined vote score of 32-21. The first round saw Indigo meet what turned out to be their toughest test in Lavender. It was back and forth at the start, but a late surge by Indigo secured a 17-12 victory.

In round two, Indigo found themselves up against a plucky Aubergine team. They handled themselves like true title contenders, winning 6-3 thanks in large part to a stifling defense. The semi-finals were supposed to be the big coming-out party for Red, but Indigo was having none of it. Despite being heavy underdogs, Indigo dominated Red from start to finish. They secured a 9-6 win and a ticket to the championship.

Turquoise Recap

Turquoise, on the other hand, has had anything but an easy tournament. Despite defeating opponents by a combined 33-21 vote margin, they escaped both the quarterfinal and semi-final rounds by a single vote each.

In the first round, Turquoise walloped a very green grass team 20-10. In the quarterfinals, Turquoise squared off against prime color blue, shocking the world by emerging the victor after a defensive battle, 5-4. The semi-finals matched Turquoise up against tournament favorite Cobalt Blue in the type of clash that kids skip school to witness. Despite a late surge from Cobalt, Turquoise was able to hang on for an ultra-impressive 8-7 victory.
